Scale & Paint Vienna 2026

Scale & Paint Vienna 2026

Scale & Paint 2026 was once again a real highlight for us – our “home” model-making exhibition together with IPMS Austria.

Of course, a “home game” doesn’t just mean relaxing and watching, but above all: pitching in 😄

Routine during setup – a well-rehearsed team

As every year, it quickly became clear: The team is well-rehearsed.

The setup, organization, and arrangement of the exhibition ran smoothly and thoughtfully. As a result, everything was surprisingly quick and ready for visitors.

Our model-making shop was also prepared and set up, so guests could browse directly.

Youth crafting – promoting the next generation in model making

A personal highlight for me was once again the youth crafting, for which I was responsible.

Beforehand, this meant for me: checking tools (pliers, files, etc.), providing enough glue, and preparing suitable model kits for beginners.

On-site, young visitors could simply choose a kit and get started right away.

Noteworthy were the free admission and free youth crafting based on a voluntary donation – which was highly appreciated by many.

It was really cool to see how enthusiastic the kids were. Some were immediately hooked and discovered a new hobby for themselves.

Model-making competition with strong competition

Of course, there was also a model-making competition again, in which I participated this time with three airplanes.

The exhibition was even larger than at the Ried Model Building Fair, and the quality of the models was consistently extremely high.

This time, I didn't get a placement – but honestly, I wouldn't have wanted to make the decision either - one model was more beautiful than the next!

At this point, also from me as a member of IPMS Austria:

Many thanks for the numerous participation and the many great models!

A weekend full of model making and enthusiasm

Despite all the work, it was again a really great weekend. Great conversations with other model builders, impressive models in all areas, and above all, inspiring the next generation for model making.

Working with the young people in particular was extremely fun for me – there’s hardly anything better than seeing how quickly the spark ignites.

Conclusion on Scale & Paint 2026

Scale & Paint 2026 was, once again, a top-organized model-making exhibition, full of impressive models, and a complete success for the model-making youth. Thanks to the team’s experience, everything was set up routinely.

In short: A lot of work, but at least as much joy.

I’m already looking forward to the next edition.

Regards, Stefan
